This product counts steps and it does it well. One day I walked 8-9 miles on a path. I checked the mileage at the end. I then turned around and walked the reverse path home. The mileage should have been the same. The difference was within a few 1/100ths of a mile. I was impressed. I had my GPS along and was going to use that to calibrate my pedometer. However, the GPS difference between coming and going was a few 1/10ths of a mile. That said, you can’t believe the absolute distances. Your stride varies between steep terrain and level, between hard surfaces and sand, between when you are rested and tired and maybe even between night and day if you are walking in the boonies.
I love this pedometer. I bought from Dick's Sporting last year and I plan to buy another from Amazon, just to back up, because Dick is already one of them. I had no problem with the clip, which remains firmly in my work clothes out. I like to listen to the voice announces that the above steps if you get to the nearest thousand. This is a great step counter with ease, without a camera. It 's a great incentive for people like me, likemore than 10,000 steps a day, and because I am a personal trainer and gym manager, I always recommend a pedometer to their customers. And 'cheap, easy to use and works. I give it two thumbs up.
